The mission of Friends at Play is “to develop an interest in piano among children and adults by providing unique and accessible opportunities for piano performance.” Friends at Play offers a unique arts experience both in style and material. All performances are played by an eight-hand ensemble, and the music, while technically very rigorous, is accessible to a wide variety of listeners. The repertoire includes contemporary, jazz, traditional, and patriotic. The energy of four players performing widely enjoyable music on two pianos creates a musical excitement that is unique, highly desirable, and otherwise unavailable in the Valley.
